noise nazi

it's a tough job...but someone's got to do it.

when it comes to my fickle napper, ben, i get a little overexcited about the amount of noise nearby. if you've spent any time with me while ben is napping, i've probably asked you to talk softer, to pause unloading the dishwasher, or to turn the tv down. i cringe at a loud noise. i look at you with daggers if you shout in excitement at the game. i am horrified when you walk in the door with a shout, "we're here!"

but i want you to know - i never pictured myself as being this mother. and i wish i could just relax. but i can't. and i am this mother. hopefully my baby sleeps better because of it...otherwise, i will just be losing friends and family for nothing. ;)

You will never lose me...I would be happy to lower my (often over-exuberant) voice!

Ha ha, I feel like this post was about me and my shouting as I left your place last night:) I will be working on my inside voice for our next visit.

I also think the last time we were there we yelled "we're here." Sorry, I will also practice my level 1 voice. (whisper voice)

oh dear - none of these comments for directed at anyone specifically. i was feeling mostly bad about giving my dad, brother, and tim a hard time all weekend about noise. but glad we're all still friends. :)

Just so you know..I was one of those mothers who was VERY concious about the noise level. Joy now wears earplugs and she's how old? 30.
