ode to bc blueberries

there's no doubt you're the biggest,
the most wonderful, and the best.
i froze 10 pounds of twenty...
i'm sure i ate the rest.

you're the perfect round, fruit.
a tough skin but insides pure.
bc blueberries are phenomenal
and of this i am sure.
my friend, hannah, (who is staying with us from the UAE) and i washed, drained, dried, and flash froze almost 20 lbs. of bc blueberries today. i now need to move them into containers that have lids but i'm waiting for my tupperware large carry-all to come so that i can pour all my berries into that. i'm tempted to go buy more since this 20lbs. just cost me $30...but then i will have spent $60 on blueberries and that's crazy.

Oh blueberries. One year I bought a whole flat of them. They were so heavy that my arms were sore from carrying them around the farmers market. I frozen them and thought it was so great that I'd have blueberries all winter. They were gone by November, haha.

Ben really really loves his blueberries. It's a good idea to stock up!

Ah, I try to do this every summer, but b/c we are moving in a month, no frozen blubs (pronounced bloobs) for us. Shame.

Oh, I love blueberries. British farming seems to be going pretty well with all the fruit over here with a warm summer. I do love the BC ones though.

How do you flash freeze them? I usually just throw them in ziplock freezer bags and stick em in the freezer!

lay the berries on a cookie sheet and put in the freezer. then when frozen, pull them out and pour into container.
